Many people do not considered Basketball as art, but through my eyes I see it as art. To me is as a pure art as it can be and if you watch the video below of Kobe Bryant (favorite player) you might get some sense of what I'm trying to say.

Art is everywhere
Do all the arts communicate emotions and feelings?
To me art is one of the beautiful things created by humans, in my opinion all the arts communicate emotion, feeling and something that we can explain in some case. Art is a power tool to communicate not only emotions, but a specific idea that any artist is trying to express to the observers. Art is one of those things that when people pay attention it can be the most power way of communication. Communication is a big part of art because for the most part artists are always trying to communicate something it does not matter what it is.
Sometimes some people do not get what an artist is trying to communicate through his art for the most part they get the wrong message, emotion, or feeling. It's really hard for an artist to show the right feeling he is trying to communicate with his art, but when they do a good or great in their work almost everybody that observe his art would get almost the same emotion, feeling, message, or something in between.

A Way of Life
Does religion has anything to do with art?
During the Renaissance art was flourishing everywhere in Europe many artists were making the best that they can make. Most important the Church was dictating what was the right art to make at the time for example most of the arts during the time were done in churches or in religious places or has to do with something about religion. My point is religion played a big factor in art during those times, but now is different artists are more open to their ideas. Most of the artists now are doing what they think good for them before some artists did not have that luxury.
I still think religion have some power in art not as much as they used to have sometimes I feel it was good that religion influence art because if it was because of that we would not have some of the great arts that we have now. For example we would not have the Sistine Chapel which is one of my favorite piece of art. I think art is like religion it brings people together for good and bad reasons.
Response to TA's question 2
I agreed with Tolstoy on how art unite people and their emotion; art is make by human so I think because is created by us it tends to unite us. By uniting us together our emotions are pull out our body to express our feeling to others. I feel in Tolstoy model not every art fit the standard of art at least in his view. There are artistic and creative art does not portrait or set the right path to unite people and their emotions.
I think Tolstoy definition of art; that art is suppose to bring people and their emotion can be true, but in some case there are people who when they are seeing or observing art they do not feel any emotions. What I'm trying to say is that art does not have to unite people and their emotion to be successful. I feel art by itself can be really successful because of it beauty to me something being beautiful is more important than uniting people. Because beauty express itself to the world and the real beauty is that is created by humans.

Q&A 2
Why does Tolstoy insist that, in order for an artist
to succeed, his/her product must communicate a specific emotion or feeling?
I think Tolstoy insist
that an artist to succeed has to communicate a specific emotion or feeling.
Because art is human if you provide the people with the right amount of detail
so they can express their emotions or feelings toward the art. Judgment is part
of art since humans are the only ones who can judge art and artist has to
devote most of his thinking how to communicate the right feelings to the
specific are he is creating, so people feel the emotions he’s trying to
communicate through his art to the people.
I agreed with Tolstoy
on how art unite people with their emotion for example when you looking to a
specific piece of art you tend to put your emotions toward the art. I feel
being able to show are emotions toward art makes it us have better feeling to
things we really care in life. If you think about it life is basically art we
are surrounded by art everywhere we look there is some sort of art. The human
history is based on art. By communicating a specific emotion or feeling through
a piece of art.
Emotions
and feelings are big part of how successful a piece of art can be; it depends
how much effort and dedication an artist put into his work. Since art is
created by humans communication has to play a big role on how the specific art
infect the people. Artists have to be really passionate in order to communicate
what they are trying to portrait in their arts. I feel all arts communicate
emotions and feelings, but everybody doesn’t have the same specific emotions or
feeling toward a specific piece of art.
